Covid-19 Operating Procedures

Staffing

  • Two staff members at all operating times, preferably one male and one female.

  • If you are unwell do not attend work follow DHHS, Self-assessment for risk of Covid- 19.

  • All staff to have completed AGHD Covid-19 Infection Control Training.

  • All staff to encourage and enforce social distancing as best as possible.

  • Standard Health questions to be asked on arrival are as follows.

 

Have you returned from overseas or interstate (DHHS declared red zone) in the last 14 days?

Have you visited any known suburbs with a high prevalence Covid-19 in the last 14 days?

Have you had any close contact with a Covid-19 positive case?

Do you have any flu-like symptoms?

 

If the customer replies YES to any of these questions, please ask them politely to leave the facility.

  • Staff should feel safe in their workplace, abuse from customers or abuse of other customers will not be tolerated. If this occurs, they will be asked to leave the facility. Failing to comply with this instruction will result with the Police being called and the matter reported to the High School Principal.

  • All staff to undergo training in operational changes and cleaning procedures.

 

Entry & Exit

  • As of Tuesday 25/05/2021 mask are mandatory in all indoor settings.

  •  Social Distancing points to be marked on the floor in foyer and at counter.

  • Plastic strips on doors to be removed.

  • Screen on office window.

  • Hand sanitiser available upon entry & exit.

  • Standard health questions as per DHHS.

  • Name and phone number of users for contact tracing or QR code.

  • Disinfect high touch areas in entrance foyer and office regularly.

 

Change Rooms

  • Maximum of eight persons in change rooms at one time.

  • All swimmers must shower before entering the pool.

  • Designated changing points marked in change rooms.

  • Showering & hand washing information to be displayed.

  • Disinfect high touch areas in change rooms regularly.

 

Disabled Change Room

  • Maximum of two persons (assisted dressing)

 

Store Room

  • One staff member at any time.

 

 

Plant Room

  • Maximum of two staff members at any time.

 

Pool Hall

  • Maximum of 50 visitors in main pool building at any one time, spectators and swimmers. (this number may be reduced if we cannot inforce social distancing practises) This excludes staff. 4 square metre rule applies.

  • Reduced seating capacity with clear designated areas.

  • Social Distancing in family groups allowed, but need to be 1.5 metres distance away from the next person or persons.

  • Increased ventilation, run both wall furnaces and all extraction fans.

  •  Covid 19 information displayed.

 

Equipment

  • No pool equipment loaned to the public under any circumstance. Examples: goggles, noodles, kickboards, floatation aids.

  • No sharing of equipment with participants during a program/ class.

  • All equipment used in program/class is to be cleaned after use as per AGDH document. Environmental cleaning and disinfection principles for health and residential care facilities.

  • Do not touch somebody else’s personal water container or medication on the side of the pool.

 

Lap Swimming

  • Bookings are no longer required, contact tracing records to be kept.

  • No equipment sharing.

  • No lending of the pools equipment.

 

Aqua Aerobics

  • Class participants must pre book (Name and contact phone number)

  • Maximum of 15 participants per class, social distancing of 1.5 metres applies.

  • The participant before the commencement of the class must collect their own equipment and return the equipment to a designated collection point.

  • All equipment used in program/class is to be cleaned after use as per AGDH document. Environmental cleaning and disinfection principles for health and residential care facilities.

  • Do not touch somebody else’s personal water container or medication on the side of the pool.

 

Swimming Club

  • No equipment sharing. It would preferable if each club member had his or her own equipment for training.

  • Do not touch somebody else’s personal water container or medication on the side of the pool.

  • Training times may change depending on time programs are running.

  • Swimming Club too keep records of participants for contact tracing.

 

Swimming Lessons

  • hand sanitising stations provided upon entry

  • markers on seats to help assist with 1.5m social distancing guidelines

  • to manage our facilities capacity and ensure social distancing, we ask that: only one guardian per family attends swimming lessons

  • In Victoria, no siblings are able to attend, unless they are under 12 months old or participating in another class.

  • Our water fountains will be closed, so please bring a drink bottle.

 

To assist with keeping our numbers in the centre to a minimum, we also ask that families arrive at the pool with their children ready for their lesson wearing swimming gear underneath a dressing gown and appropriate footwear.

We also ask families to wherever possible, wrap and go following your lesson. This will assist us greatly in managing the capacity and flow of all people at our facility.
